Today is a rather gray and gloomy day - in the morning it wouldn't stop raining, and it is also chilly and windy. The sun came out for about 30 minutes, but the clouds returned...However, I decided that I wouldn't let the weather put a damper on my day (even though I would really like to curl up by a fireplace with a blanket, good book, and mug of steaming hot chocolate) and chose to take pictures of my arsenal of long necklaces.
I really love long necklaces because they can help pull a look together so well. Long necklaces also work anytime and anywhere: morning, day, or night, a formal dinner party or a lunch date with a friend.
Again, it was a very cloudy and bleak day; I would have taken the pictures outside but it was too cold and wet. Sorry about the lack of color!
*The mannequin is from my Boots & Mannequins post, if it looks familiar to you. :)
I just recently purchased this necklace from Shopbop; I'm usually not a fan of clothing or jewelry that have big logos pronouncing the name of the brand on it, but I have been after a berry-colored necklace for a long time and this necklace seemed like such a cute accent piece. Plus, it was also 75% off. ;]
I hadn't really given netted pearl necklaces much thought until I saw them; they are such a great investment! The netting tones down the pearls enough so the necklace isn't too dressy.
Does this necklace also look familiar? I featured in this post in October.
I love the vintage-y charms of this necklace! I bought it a few years ago and still wear it frequently. My favorite charm is the fleur de lis key.

Thanks for everyone's answers about their favorite fall/winter 08 trend!
As for my answer, I think the oversized look is my favorite. I love oversize sweaters and cardis - they are just so comfortable and I can't help buying loads of cashmere grandpa cardigans!
On to the next question:
What is your go-to piece in your closet for lazy days?

I love to wear a loose fitting soft tee, my University of Edinburgh sweatshirt and yoga pants. That outfit while reading a great book and drinking a cup of tea is perfection!
omg I love all of these. espesh the marc jacobs and netted pearl ones
Well, anything comfy and warm (like a big cashmere sweater, leggins and flat suede boots). The clothes get a more casual style (im usually more of a "feminine, retro"fan.
Love the pearls!!
On lazy days I like to wear tattered jeans, vintage tees and clogs.
Yes, clogs.
This time of the year I like to just throw on my red corduroys. They never fail to make me feel a little better on one of those cloudy, lazy days where I'd rather not dress at all.
these necklaces are amazing! I wish I'd seen this post sooner! I think my favourite is the pearls :)
